Meagan's 6th Birthday

I'm BAAAAACK! I know it has been like, an eternity since I've blogged. I am going to TRY to get back in the swing of it though. I've missed it. There's too much to try to catch up on so I figured I'd just start with some recent stuff and move on from there.

Meagan is such a girly-girl, so I came up with the idea to have a Spring Tea Party to celebrate her turning six. On the invitation, I asked all of the girls to bring their favorite doll to the party.

The table was set for the princesses to arrive. A good friend let me borrow her lovely tea cups and several serving trays. The girls each got to take home the flower pot, the initial tag, and the little flower lip gloss.

The party was a big success - thanks to my sister, Lisa for all her help as well. Oh, and I can't forget to thank Avery for her musical talents and adding to the ambiance of the party!

Tricks and Treats

Since Halloween fell on a Sunday, we dressed up to go to church.

Fall, Family, Friends, and Fun

I finally uploaded the pictures I took in October and it was about 300!!! I was a bit overwhelmed and haven't had a lot time to go through them. But there were so many good ones that I want to share so I'll start with these. I'll try to do a Halloween one soon, too.

Got to go see my long time friend, Summer and her sweet family on a day the girls had off of school. She lives in Orlando and just had her second baby girl, Hollyn. It was such a treat to visit and hold that precious newborn. I had to fight Avery and Meagan for my turn. They love a baby too! Wonderful day!

So darling! Don't worry, I'm "cured" of the baby fever. NO desire for more in my house!

Getting ready for the hayride at the Heritage Community Church Fall Festival. It was such a wonderful day of fellowship with our new friends/family. A very sweet spirit was there.

A bubble machine and a great DJ provided loads of entertainment for Miss Meagan.

Jumping back to the Bushnell Fall Festival. Gus had to work the SECO booth that day, but we stopped by to see him and brought him a corn dog!

Hunter's theme at the parade was, "Why run for the candy when they throw it right to you?" It was so funny watching him pick up whatever landed in front of him and put it in his pile.

Zebra~Bieber Birthday Bash

To celebrate Avery's 10th birthday, we held a good old fashioned slumber party. I like to make a HUGE deal out of my kids' birthdays, so I go all out. I started planning about two months in advance with the theme, decor, etc. Most of my decor this time came from good, ol' Hobby Lobby and on sale. I picked out the pink/zebra print stuff cause I just liked it and thought it was girly, yet a little grown up (as a 10 year old is!) I'm not sure how, but I got the cute idea to frame a baby pic of Avery and a recent pic of her and place them on the table and I'm so happy with the way that turned out. The little book on the table was a photo album/journal book that I had each guest write on a page what they liked about being friend with Avery. I took a pic of each friend with Avery to place in the book so she'll have a special keepsake of her 10th party.

Can't take credit for this idea, but I made these microphone cupcakes which I think turned out great. They were a big hit with the girls. The idea/recipe came from a great website that Lisa found for me called "thepartyanimal-blog.org." Lots of great ideas on there!

Okay - let's get into the "real" theme of the party - JUSTIN BIEBER!!!!! Avery is a fan, but not in a crazy way. This part of the party was up to her and that's what she chose. So I ran with it. It was pretty easy and I got a bunch of cool ideas from that website, too.

Thank goodness our long time babysitter, Tiffany was willing and able to come help me out for a few hours. She loves kids and was a lot of fun!

Of course, we had Justin Bieber CD's on repeat the whole night which lead to lots of dancing and singing.

Another HUGE highlight was when Avery opened her big gift from me and Gus. We had given her a few little presents on her actual birthday, but this one had to be saved for the party because it was................................ tickets to the Justin Bieber concert in December!

And I just thought I heard a lot of screaming that night.......

Think it's a good idea to wear ear plugs to the concert?

She was speechless!!!


We had lots of yummy and somewhat healthy food to snack on all evening. Gotta have energy for all that dancing, screaming, and singing, right?

A really fun game we played, was "Plant a kiss on Justin." You may have heard of this concept involving a donkey and a tail. I printed lips on cardstock, cut them out, put each of the girls names on the back and some tape. Then each one got blindfolded, spun around and had to get the "kiss" as close as they could to Justin's lips. Several of these girls were very good "kissers" and we had to hold a kiss off for the top 5. Too fun!

The Happy Birthday to ME moment...

Me and my sweet, beautiful girl. Hard to believe she is 10. Can't wait to see what the next ten years bring!

Yes, it was a lot of work, not a good night's sleep, and I was responsible for eleven little girls for the night. And yes, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Sara Evans Concert

For Gus's birthday (in August), I bought him tickets to see one of his favorite country music singers (and mine too). Sara Evans hasn't been at the top of the charts in a couple of years due to some family issues, but she is still great. She was playing in Ocala so that was perfect for us.

Birthdays and Back to School

For my birthday this year I invited a bunch of girlfriends to join me at Amazing Glaze for a night of painting pottery and hanging out. I had a blast with so many of my good friends who were able to make it!

Hunter's 3rd Birthday was of course a horse theme. He LOVES anything to do with a farm, horses, or hunting. What can I say, he's his Daddy's son!

Hunter highly enjoyed his horsey cake. I think he ate three pieces! Of course Aunt Lisa was on hand for the celebration. She never misses a happenin' party in the 'Wood.

This year, back to school shopping included all THREE kids! YAY!! I love my kids deeply, but I have waited so long for this day to come. The girls started at The Villages Charter School (thanks to my job change) and Hunter is in the three year old class at First Baptist Wildwood. It's a little crazy getting everyone dropped off in the mornings and getting afternoon homework done and ready for the next day, but I am very happy with the schools and the kids are doing great.

My sweet kindergartner. She had a rough first week with lots of tears, but so far week #2 is much better. She is in good hands and learning a lot already. Before bed tonight she told me "buenas noches!" Her Spanish teacher would be proud.

Beach Vacation

The last week in July, we headed north and my parents headed south to meet up on Tybee Island for vacation. They were planning on coming to our house before the kids went back to school anyway, so I suggested they join us for vacation. We had a blast! The best thing being that there were more kids than adults - always a good idea when you're around water and when you have different aged kids with different interests.

Yes, Life IS Good......

....even when you get in time out on vacation.

Mom, Avery, and I visited the Tybee Island Lighthouse. Avery and I were the only ones who climbed to the top. It was a great view. I am falling in love with lighthouses for sure. I bought this puzzle and we put it together in two days.

Those are the best pics that I had on my camera. We mostly used my Mom's. But you get the idea, right? We had a wonderful week and looking forward to another family vacation - hopefully next year!
